Each day of the 6-day Lemosho Route climb unveils new landscapes and extraordinary views as you ascend to Africa's highest peak:

  • Day 1: Londorosi Gate to Mti Mkubwa Camp

    Your adventure begins at Londorosi Gate, where you’ll hike through lush rainforest teeming with wildlife. The trail meanders past towering trees before reaching the scenic Mti Mkubwa Camp.

    Elevation: 2100m/6890ft to 2780m/9150ft

    Distance: 6km/3.7mi

    Walking Time: 4-5 hours

    Habitat: Rainforest

  • Day 2: Mti Mkubwa Camp to Shira Camp 1

    Continue your ascent through heathland, where you’ll encounter unique flora like giant lobelias. Enjoy breathtaking views of the Shira Plateau as you reach Shira Camp 1.

  • Day 3: Shira Camp 1 to Shira Camp 2

    Distance: 7km/4.3mi

    Walking Time: 3-4 hours

  • Day 4: Shira Camp 2 to Barranco Camp

    Leave behind the Shira Plateau and descend to the Barranco Valley, navigating through the famous Barranco Wall. This challenging climb is rewarded with spectacular views.

    Distance: 10km/6.2mi

    Walking Time: 5-6 hours

  • Day 5: Barranco Camp to Barafu Camp

    After a hearty breakfast, climb the Barranco Wall and traverse through the alpine desert landscape. You'll reach Barafu Camp, your final stop before the summit attempt.

  • Day 6: Summit Attempt to Uhuru Peak, then descent to Mweka Camp

    Beginning shortly after midnight, you’ll ascend to Uhuru Peak, navigating rocky paths under a starlit sky. After reaching the summit and enjoying breathtaking views, descend to Mweka Camp for your final night on the mountain.
